A new take on a classic idea is quickly gaining popularity again among women. Many boudoir photo clients are brides-to-be who have the images made as gifts for their fiancés on their wedding day. Some clients have the gifts made for Valentineʼs Day, anniversaries, birthdays, and even Christmas. Other clients have a boudoir session for themselves either as a celebration of freedom, improvements to body, or general weight loss. These photos appeal to women who want to do something fun, sexy and creative for their partners and/or for themselves. Boudoir photography is almost as popular as engagement portraits among my clients! What exactly is it? Iʼll share some details...
Boudoir photos are tasteful and intimate, with a big helping of sexy. These are not nudes, and not raunchy in any way. The client and I will typically have a conversation as to exactly what she is trying to convey in the photos. It all depends on her personality. Some of my clients want their boudoir photos to be romantic, soft and simple. Others, choose to go with more of a dramatic style, a pinup look, or more sultry attire. Hair and make up is done professionally prior to the session. At Happily Ever After, I include a Tampa area hair and make up as part of the session.
The boudoir sessions can be done in the home of the client, a studio, or in a hotel suite depending on your available space and level of comfort. Tampa boudoir sessions with Happily Ever After include a private hotel suite. The session usually lasts about two hours, and when you leave youʼll feel confident and sexy! So many women come to the sessions nervous, and unsure of the whole process. A professional boudoir photographer understands this, and I will be sure to make you feel comfortable. (Bring along a BFF for support!) Some women worry about their bodies looking less than perfect, and feel self conscious. The wonderful thing is that ALL women can have beautiful boudoirs. The idea is to flatter your figure in photos by using the right posing techniques for your body, lighting, and sometimes even a little editing "magic". After the session, women walk away with a whole new appreciation for their beautiful, unique shapes! You can have your photo collection put into an album, or made into a canvas photo. You can have prints made and framed. Or set the photos to a DVD slideshow with music. The possibilities are endless, and Iʼve never, ever met a woman that wasnʼt thrilled to have had the boudoir photo experience.
